Disney Infinity 2.0 is a toy-based sandbox game available on multiple platforms. Players use the codes that come with the figures to place them in the game world, where they can build and explore to their heart's content.
Infinity 2.0 took the initial Disney Infinity experience and improved on it in every conceivable way. The controls are better. The look of the characters is better. Even the sandbox building mode is better. By taking Disney's then-new Marvel properties and placing them in the game, they breathed life into what was otherwise a curiosity. If you are a fan of these toy-based games, there's simply no reason to skip out on this iteration. You'll have a blast, and so will any kids present.
There are downsides, of course. The controls are still a little clunky, and the game really relies on buying multiple figures and sets. The big problem is, though, that Disney has stopped supporting the game. You can no longer access the servers, nor can you download things from the games of others. You'll play this one alone, and only with what you bring to the table. That has taken a great game and reduced it to almost nothing.
Disney Infinity 2.0 was a great game, and it can still be fun if you'e got time and patience. The lack of support for the game means it isn't what it once was, and you'll feel the absence of old features in a relatively short amount of time. This game is worth a look, but it's a shadow of what it used to be. Shame on Disney for ceasing support for this game.
